My story

A bridge between America and Portugal

I am Portuguese-American, and I spent many years in the United States, where I built much of my personal and professional life. Recently my husband, our two children and I moved to Portugal, and we chose Cascais to begin this new chapter as a family.

Making that move ourselves made one thing clear: buying a home here is a complicated process, especially without the language.

That is where I come in. I can be your ally, and a bridge between the two cultures. As an American who worked in real estate in the US, I can start the process with you while you are still there and see it through here. Having been on both ends of it, I understand what American buyers expect, and how they think.

My work in the US also spanned project and operations management, business development and client support, and managing remodeling projects taught me to listen, to pay attention to detail and to build trust. Joining Christie's International Real Estate in Portugal is a new chapter, and I welcome it with gratitude and a real desire to learn.

The process is the luxury, not just the price point. Marina Wanner Real Estate Advisor, Cascais & Sintra, Portugal

Why clients pick me

Three things worth knowing

Most agents here know one market. I have been on both ends of this process, and I have moved my own family between the two.

    A bridge between two cultures

As a Portuguese-American, I understand what you expect from your agent and what the notary here will ask of you. You get one person who speaks both languages and closes the gap between the US and Portugal, instead of two people and a translator.

I have made this move myself

Doing it with my own family showed me how complicated the process is, especially without the language. I know which questions keep you up at night, because they were mine too.

    A wider perspective

Travelling and living in other countries has given me a wider view of the world. I take the time to understand what each person really needs before suggesting anything.

My approach

What luxury means to me

For me, the most important part of luxury is not the price point. It is the experience: the quality of the service, the attention to detail, the discretion and the trust.

The process itself should feel like luxury, from the first conversation, wherever in the world you are, to the day you get the keys.

Above all, it is in understanding the life each client wants to build here, whether that is a family home near the schools, a quiet house in the hills, or a place by the sea to come back to.

The first call costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Some of my clients booked one two years before they bought.
